That's fine, but at least you refrained from name calling. Much
appreciated.
Studio time takes money. Musicians cost money. Melody writing and
instrumental arranging cost money. I can't have the artist(s) produce
music without compensation for their efforts, it just won't work like
that.
You ever buy anything on Amazon or Ebay? It's pay, THEN receive.
Same thing here. Only difference it, it's a work of musical art.
Tell you what.... Visit the web site and download a contract so you
can see the options (http:/www.bighitproductions.com). Pick a
four-line verse, elect your options and e-mail them to
***@bighitproductions.com .... A :30-:60 second song will be
produced that will show you the kind of work we are offering, free of
charge. All that's asked is that you allow us to use that snippet as
a sample on the page, showcasing the music as well as your lyrics,
with no compensation. Also, since turnaround is going to be short and
this is a freebie, please do not request female vocals. Those have to
be contracted out.
As to more information about the CD releases, it's very simple thus
far. As soon as we have a good base of songs produced to choose from
(hard to frame a time since it relies solely upon the amount of songs
produced), they will be released as compilations (kinda like the "Now
That's What I Call Music" series). Singles will be distributed
internationally to morning shows, specialty programmers, anyone the
best songs are deemed to be necessarily targeted toward. We're
examining the potential for selling the compilations independantly on
CDBaby, CafePress, Amazon, and possibly Itunes, as well as a variety
of "demo" sources to garner attention for the product. In-store
placement is still being considered and may go through an alternative
or independantly-created label.
The mastermind behind this structure is a 12-year veteran of the radio
industry, and the plan is very sound. This is about creating music in
a way that's never been done before, and creating a situation where
everyone (the writer, the composers, the producers, etc) receive
proper compensation. I don't know how many times you've been offered
the chance to have professional musicians take your lyrics and record
a song (in the style of your choosing!) that has the potential to
provide residuals and recognition for a considerablye meager amount of
money, but for $250 you would hardly get a couple hours of studio
time. Isn't $250 worth it? Go ahead, try to find any artist to do
your song in the style of your choosing for that much money and
effort. It's well-worth the price.
This concept is the dream of the radio vet described above, and
because of his background, his studio connections, as well as his
access to a very prolific set of musicians, everyone wins. As long as
people don't try to tear it down and make false claims, that is.
Jolanda, I hope you take up the offer for a free demo song. I am
confident it will help you see that this is really about the art, and
not a big scam. This is designed to provide a viable option to the
scammers.
Thanks for your time.

Well, you have been busy on a lot
of groups then.......
But I still stick with what I said on
one does not pay to do a job, one receives
payment for it!
The site leaves lots of questions open and so
does the contract. It does not show enough
details about international releases nor about
worldwide sales.
On the base of what I can read on your
site and in the contract I do not feel the
need to pay you 250 US dollars.
