How dare you call this a rip-off! That's libel, Irene. You've never
used the service and you've never heard the music.

BHP is trying to do something creative and provide a unique service,
with the intent to take business away from the "song farms" that
you're apparantly lumping BHP in with. The model of this project is
designed to not only provide an alternative to the rip-off artists,
but there WILL be CDs released containing the songs, with the chance
for writers to receive royalties on their lyrics.

You want to see a REAL rip-off artist, check out this clip, it's what
inspired the beginnings of BHP....

I'll bet you didn't even read the site. Please do, you may find it
enlightening.

Don't even think of it. Waste of time, waste of money! For $250 US you could do a lot better than these rip-off artists :-)

That's fine, but at least you refrained from name calling. Much
appreciated.

Studio time takes money. Musicians cost money. Melody writing and
instrumental arranging cost money. I can't have the artist(s) produce
music without compensation for their efforts, it just won't work like
that.

You ever buy anything on Amazon or Ebay? It's pay, THEN receive.
Same thing here. Only difference it, it's a work of musical art.

Tell you what.... Visit the web site and download a contract so you
can see the options (http:/www.bighitproductions.com). Pick a
four-line verse, elect your options and e-mail them to
***@bighitproductions.com .... A :30-:60 second song will be
produced that will show you the kind of work we are offering, free of
charge. All that's asked is that you allow us to use that snippet as
a sample on the page, showcasing the music as well as your lyrics,
with no compensation. Also, since turnaround is going to be short and
this is a freebie, please do not request female vocals. Those have to
be contracted out.

As to more information about the CD releases, it's very simple thus
far. As soon as we have a good base of songs produced to choose from
(hard to frame a time since it relies solely upon the amount of songs
produced), they will be released as compilations (kinda like the "Now
That's What I Call Music" series). Singles will be distributed
internationally to morning shows, specialty programmers, anyone the
best songs are deemed to be necessarily targeted toward. We're
examining the potential for selling the compilations independantly on
CDBaby, CafePress, Amazon, and possibly Itunes, as well as a variety
of "demo" sources to garner attention for the product. In-store
placement is still being considered and may go through an alternative
or independantly-created label.

The mastermind behind this structure is a 12-year veteran of the radio
industry, and the plan is very sound. This is about creating music in
a way that's never been done before, and creating a situation where
everyone (the writer, the composers, the producers, etc) receive
proper compensation. I don't know how many times you've been offered
the chance to have professional musicians take your lyrics and record
a song (in the style of your choosing!) that has the potential to
provide residuals and recognition for a considerablye meager amount of
money, but for $250 you would hardly get a couple hours of studio
time. Isn't $250 worth it? Go ahead, try to find any artist to do
your song in the style of your choosing for that much money and
effort. It's well-worth the price.

This concept is the dream of the radio vet described above, and
because of his background, his studio connections, as well as his
access to a very prolific set of musicians, everyone wins. As long as
people don't try to tear it down and make false claims, that is.

Jolanda, I hope you take up the offer for a free demo song. I am
confident it will help you see that this is really about the art, and
not a big scam. This is designed to provide a viable option to the
scammers.

Thanks for your time.

Well, you have been busy on a lot
of groups then.......
But I still stick with what I said on
one does not pay to do a job, one receives
payment for it!
The site leaves lots of questions open and so
does the contract. It does not show enough
details about international releases nor about
worldwide sales.
On the base of what I can read on your
site and in the contract I do not feel the
need to pay you 250 US dollars.

Yea, right! I frequently flush $250 down the bog just to hear the nice
post-modernist sound that it makes.

Anybody with similar aesthetic taste should join up at once!

Otherwise they might find a friend with an Apple Mac - that's what a
music studio is today, much better than 10 years ago and as much time as
you like.

Mind you, if you've been tempted by this scam, please let me know. I
promise that I'll send you a genuine MP3 file of my bog flushing your
$250 - with that retro echo of a genuine bog that'd cost you a fortune
in studio time to reproduce.

Just think of those banks of outdated, redundant synthesizers fighting
to get the authentic top note of the badly maintained handle flange - it
could take weeks to get the recording just so. With me you have the
genuine item along with a signed certificate that no scamster got rich...

er, actually, I lied about the last one. My mother would stop speaking
to me if I signed something like that.

You're certainly not referring to the music that will be produced by
BHP, because none of that describes the music that will be created
for this project..... unless, in the however unlikely event, that it's
precisely what the songwriter wants!

It seems that a lot of people want to bash BHP but no one wants to
take me up on the offer to judge the final product by submiting a few
lines for a free demo. Why are folks like you trying to crush this
project so bady?

I can't fathom such extreme hatred and unjustified negativity
regarding BHP's model. I truly can't.

Ask yourself this, if I was a scammer would I even DREAM of starting
something like this in the public forum, where people (like you) could
bash the crap out of it without actually judging the finished product?
When this project came into existence, I never imagined I'd have to
fight over ethics, but here we are.

If you are a musician, I am interested in checking out your work. I
am always seeking artists who may wish to collaborate on projects such
as this.
