Copy protection on Travis "12 Memories" - overcome?

Hi,

Several months I bought "12 Memories" by Travis on 'CD' before I had
ever heard of copy protection. I have since bought an iPod which is
now my main music enjoyment device. I have a bunch of CDs that are
copy protected which means that even though I have legitimately
purchased the music, I cannot listen to them on my iPod. This REALLY
iritates me, as I'm sure it does lots of people. I'm not trying to do
anything illegal, just listen to music I have purchased legitimately
on whatever device I choose.

Is there a way to overcome this CD copy protection? I have tried
pressing the Shift key when inserting the CD but no joy there.

The record label is: Independiente. I would advise anyone to consider
this problem before purchasing any music on this label - you might not
be able to listen to the music you buy on certain devices.

Any clues on how I can overcome the copy protection that this record
label uses is appreciated. This is purely for my own enjoyment, not to
share or distribute music.

I will never buy anything again on the Independiente record label.

Thanks in advance.

Try dubbing the CD from another CD player into your PC over an analogue
cable.

Works for me every time.

Incidentally if the CD displays the usual Compact Disc logo and doesn't play
in your PC or Mac then you can legitamatly return it to the vendor. Anything
carrying the logo must be compatible with all devices also carrying the
logo.
