cd burning

I have downloaded some music and it is stored in my music file and
plays perfectly. however, when I try to copy it to CD, it copies the
first minute or so then says "disc full". The disc is a new CD-R 700
MB, and so has only recorded a tiny fraction of its capacity. Has
anyone any idea what the problem is?

My guess would be your burning software. Download the free 30 day trial of
Nero www.nero.com and see if it fixes your problem. If not, it's a hardware
problem.
