MP3 storage - Folders or file name?

What's everyone's opinion on storage of MP3's? One large folder with
Artist - Album - song name or a series of folders seperating the
Artist, then the albums and so on?

Are there any benefits to either system?

I currently have a huge folder with a huge list and have found it
works ok, but the collection is growing.......

You may find that having a folder for each letter or the alphabet is better.
There is a finite limit to how many files Windows will allow in one folder.
