Hi,

several years ago I composed some music with FT2 (Future Tracker II). I
really liked that app, because you could use samples so easily and directly
apply effects. With MIDI you need to load a SF bank to get the required
samples/instruments... not very comfortable for me.

I would like compose some music tracks for animations. However, I am not
impressed by MIDI and I guess FT2 is a little outdated.

So I need some informations from insiders, what is a good music composing
tool (tracker) - any free stuff on the scene?

thanks!

Hope I am not OT here!

Actually I used to use ScreamTracker3, that was great tracker for me. :)
But I'm using Reason (one of DAW software) now.

So... maybe you can use SKALE tracker.

Or, DAW is another choice but it's not free.
(For example; Reason, Project5 and so on)

Good luck!

How to make music on PC today??
Many uses loops and sampled sounds within programs such as Acid,Reason,Storm
etcetera.
I make music ,with electric guitars midi-keyboard and various wave- loops.
The way I make music
Start the basic drums and bass patterns using loops in Acid or sometimes in
Storm and add some more interesting loops and fit it togheter for a tight
sound.
Then moves it to Cubase and adds guitars and keyboards and sounds plus
effects and polishing it in the mixer adding reverb and equlizer etcetera.
It`s a very fast and enjoyable procedure.
How does it sound?
Visit my site http://www.megado.com
and listen to the music.
My equipment is
a 3 GHz PC
Variax Guitar
Novation X-station
Cubase
Storm3
Acid and a growing loop-library
