Hey everyone,

I was hoping I could hear what you guys think about this. Myself and few
others are in the process of creating a new internet radio station. Were
really trying to go all out and create a fun station that many will like.
But we are faced with many questions about what we will put for our format,
etc.. The selection of music and the line-up is key to the success of the
station and who knows this stuff better than you, the general public. And
music buffs at that :) We put a survey on the net at
www.soundblastradio.com and were even offering a $100 Cash prize for filling
it out so I hope you will check it out and tell us your opinion. It's you
guys that will decide the face of this station.

Also to make some discussion on the list what would you guys think of trying
to feature small local bands from around the world. Maybe even a talent
contest between them. And does anyone have some wacky show ideas? We'd
love to hear them.

Thanks,

Jordan Sisk

Welcome to Internet radio! Would you consider affiliating your station
with live365.com? They have a huge selection of music.

Pick a focus, and stick to it. Too much variation from your format, and
persons will change channel.

Yeah, it would be cool to have a world band channel, but think you would need
to be a person that travels. Kind of difficult to find much on the net for
some of these countrys.

I currently have an Internet Radio station - its currently down but I
will have it back up as soon as possible. I have also worked at radio
stations as a DJ and pretty much did a lot of everything - including
fix some of the equipment.

It gave me the chance to see that there can be many beneficial points
to having an Internet Radio station. You should really take a look at
some of the ones that are already up and online. They will make you
even more anxious to start one! Believe me.

Now if one of the main objectives is for you to have a profit from
your radio station you're going to have to take a look at the
ways/process that you will have to go thru in order to make a profit.
I got an email from someone who wants to feature indie bands on her
station but she also has to have a way to make it profitable as well.
If you choose live365 you are going to have to read the rules and
guidelines because they are strict regarding advertising which means
if you want your station to be profitable you are going to have to do
other things.

The best piece of advice that I can give you is to format your station
on paper FIRST! While live365 has rules about advertising that
doesn't mean that you can't put it on your station - as I have done it
and so have others. You just have to know how to work with the rules.

When you see how many others have Internet Stations and some of them
very successful and well known it will wet your appetite so bad that
you won't want to wait to get started!

I like the idea of the talent contest - it will draw both an audience
and the talent you're seeking - you see - you already have a great
idea!
