Hi everybody,

I really need your help if you are into audio file conversion. I
recorded an interview during data collection for my research and the
output file I got has the extension of vy2. I tried playing it with
real player, media player, quick time, and winamp as well as converting
it using some programs like streambox and other audio converter
software. Nothing helped at all? I really need that file to analyze my
data. I hope somebody there can hear my HELP! scream.

Thankx....

VY2 looks like it's a proprietary file type used by Samsung hardware, I
would guess Samsung will have software that will play VY2 files on a PC
(check their website for a download?) and maybe convert them.

Alternatively, the more complicated way is that you could play back on your
voice recorder and record that into a PC using audio recording software -
assuming the recorder has some kind of output connection (probably Line
Out).

The simplest method, which is a long shot but might just work, is to
manually change the file extension to MP3 or WAV using Windows Explorer, and
try opening it - worth a try ;-)

Dear Joe,

Thank you very much for your reply. It was really very helpful. I
downloaded a VY2 file player from Samsung and it has a feature of
converting it to wav. It was really brilliant.

Thank you again for your help...

Where did you get this? I've checked the Samsung site and am not having
any luck. Please let me know how you got this.

Thanks!
